The first edition of Franz Eugen Schlachter’s translation was published in 1905. The text went through an important revision process in 1951. Characteristic of the Schlachter Bible is the smooth-flowing translation from the original Hebrew and Greek.

For the 2000 edition of the Schlachter Bible the text was once again edited, and the content updated with twenty first century language usage. Subsequently, this text has become a more accurate representation of the original Hebrew and Greek text.
